Broken Lid Lock on Top Load Washers

Customer Concern:

Lid Lock may break if the customer tries to raise the lid when locked.

Cause:

The Customer may try to force open the lid when it is still locked. Unit may still be spinning slowly, and lid will not unlock until basket has come to a complete stop. Because these washers are nearly silent during this final “wind down”, consumers think that the cycle is complete, and try to force the lid open.

Solution:

Design changes were made to the Lid Lock “Slider” to increase strength and enhance the robustness of the lock.
Order Lid Lock Kit # W10404050 and install following the instructions supplied with the kit.
